Quick history of the W30 Kompromiss
The W30 Kompromiss is a fine and quick sailboat, built by a small shipbuilder based in Piteå (Northern Sweden) for a few years before the company went bankrupt. In total, less than 200 units were built. The last series (like Elvira) were fitted with a mast from Isomat (France).
What about Elvira specifically?
I'm the 4th owner of Elvira. The first one sailed from Portugal to the Antilles, all along the Atlantic, and in the Baltic before leaving her on land for some years in Ã…land. The 2nd owner, sailed her back to Sweden, put her on land near his house and refitted the interior over a few winters. That was almost 20 years ago. Some years ago, a couple of inveterate sailors who sailed around the Stockholm archipelago, removed the led-paint on the hull and later bought a bigger sailboat and sailed to the Caribbean.
