To Nynäshamn and Jam!
What better way to start the journey than do go play some music?
On a few occasions this year, I've sailed to Nynäshamn on Fridays, not because it is that much closer to Stockholm than my boat club, but because it's easier to get to Stockholm. So, after a decent navigation that started with a stronger wind than forecasted, I was almost becalmed for the last bit toward Nynäshamn. No matter, that was a good time to try out my new old gennaker.
After a bit of rumbling and meddling, I managed to set it up. It did not seat as well as I would have wished, and I'll need to find a way to set it a bit further forward. Still, with the help of the gennaker, I managed to reach Nynäshamn in good time and could go to all 3 jams on that weekend.
The first part of the trip was a bit rocky but fun!
Gliding quietly between the islands, can't get enough of this!
First crack at setting up the gennaker.
An accelerated version of how I lower my sails. Shade the genoa from the wind using the mainsail, roll it. Turn to face the wind and start the engine, lower the mainsail. Make everything ship-shape and finish the journey to the harbour.
The poor guy lost his jury-rig off of the first sporty part...
