Castle visit and quick passage to Kalmar
A visit to Borgholm's castle, a short sailing with the wind almost aft for once, and a sneak peek at Kalmar's castle for the sunset.
The Borgholm Castle
After a quick breakfast, I started walking toward the castle. From the harbour, it's a rather nice walk through a forest and you emerge from it almost right under the castle. The view from the castle is quite scenic: it has a commanding view of the strait (and of Öland too but not quite as impressive). After a thorough visit, I walked back the way I'd come and had a quick tour in the city center too, found a nice café to have a quick early lunch and then back to the boat and let's cast!
The path to the castle
Well, I did not completely fucked up the beard trimming yesterday.

I like the shadow the castle casts on the field and forest
Somewhere in the harbour, Elvira is patiently waiting.
It controls the entire strait at this point.

The passage to Kalmar
The exit of the Borgholm harbour was not the easiest, there was quite a bit of side wind to leave the channel, but once I could hoist up the sails and start to go downwind towards Kalmar that all went rather easy. But the fresh wind didn't last that long and quickly went down to a slowish pace. That gave me time to do a bit of crocheting and to make a small pocket for the winch in a place that is more convenient than in the big one I had made last year.
I arrived in Kalmar with enough time to clean up the ship, have a quick bit and take a short stroll to have a look at the castle.
bye bye castle

A bit of reaching at last!
I just passed under that bridge.
Kalmar's castle is in sight.
