Visit of a stone almanac, crossing to Ystad, visit of Ystad (and a bit of music).

Coincidentally, while I was speaking with a good friend of mine who visited Ystad and told me I should stop there, I realised I had landed right next to something worth seeing 🤣! So before doing the last 10 NM from here to Ystad, I took a short walk up the hill and went to see Ales stenar. 59 stones perched up a hill, that can be used as an almanac by tracking behind which stone the sun rise and set 🤯, not bad for a 1400 yo stuff, innit?

Once I had looked at the stones (and the view from the hill) for a bit, I went back to the boat and set off. Sadly, there was next to no wind. It was supposed to start blowing shortly after I had sent up the sails, but well it took its time… It did finally set up at some point after a good deal spent just waiting still, and I was able to make it to Ystad, but I was gashed: the hours of waiting without wind in full sun had taken a toll on me. So I first took a good rest inside Elvira, then went out to walk in the town (following that same friend's instructions). They were quite good, I managed to walk in a lot of nice places in a relatively short time (So many cute houses, I didn't know how to choose which to keep here and which to delete… I did make a drastic filtering, but there are still a lot, as you'll see in a minute).

When I was done with my tour and came back to the boat. I started playing guitar in the cockpit as per (almost) usual and my neighbour (a German, also as per usual) turned around and asked if he could come over and play (he had an electric bass inside his boat) and so we played some improvisation until 10pm. It was quite jazzy, and I was quite out of my depth, but it was quite fun at the same time.

It was a bit clouded to start the day. This is the view looking back on the harbour from the path leading to the stones.

In a few hours time, I'd slowly make my way there.

The famous stones

You can see them on top of that hill. Actually, they were used in the old times as a landmark by ships to know if they were on the right path.

A breath of air at last!

And here starts the collection of house pictures 🫣…

That was a lot, wasn't it? And know that I deleted almost as many as I've left…
