Late start, late stop
Some disappearing headwind to start the day, but fantastic light near the end
There wasn't much wind to work with in the morning, so instead of leaving early, I swam, relaxed, played music, etc. I took off in the afternoon with the idea to just reach a place with buoys not so far from where I was. I wanted to try to get in place for the next day and enjoy some West wind again and sail to Västervik.
It was quite a change of pace compared to the previous day, but it was rather nice surroundings. Tack after tack, slaloming against the wind between the islands. The wind was dropping gradually however, soon I removed my reef in the mainsail, and after a bit I got entirely becalmed between two islands. The wind revived a bit after from the opposite direction (it's quite visible on the trace: that's the moment the zigzagging stops 🤣). Still, when it did, it was a bit late and I opted for a closer place for the night than I had reckoned with at first.
It was a spot with no less than 7 buoys from SXK, so I thought it was near certainty that there'd be at least one free. Well, there were none, so I made a lap around to change my mooring preparations to go to the quay. That wasn't enough though: the stern-buoy was really far from the quay, and I had to make another loop around the moored boats to put an extension on my hook. Third time's a charm though, it worked!
The landscape was nice, but not necessarily photogenic…
But when sunset came, those colours came to life
The wind was almost inexistent at the end, that created this neat reflection.
